M. Keegan, DVM

Dr. Keegan did her undergraduate studies in biology,
graduating with a BA degree with high honors from Fontbonne
College in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree with high honors from the
University of Missouri, Columbia in 1981. She is a member of
the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California
Veterinary Medical Association and the Society For
Theriogenology.

Dr. Keegan has
been practicing in the Bay area in 1989. She is one of the
authors of an article on gall bladder disease in the Shetland
Sheepdog, which was published in July 2007 in the Journal of
the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Keegan has
been married for 37 years. She and her husband share their
home with several Shetland Sheepdogs and one black cat, who
they found abandoned at Elkhorn Slough Wildlife Refuge in
1996. When she is not busy with veterinary work, Dr. Keegan
can be found training and competing with her Shelties. Her
