Establishing a "We Care" atmosphere at Adobe Pet Hospital comes easy for Karen Vida, the hospital's office manager. Karen, a California native, has wanted to work with animals for as long as she can remember.

"Animals have always been an important part of my life," Karen said. "One thing about my job I enjoy the most is the client/patient relationship."

As the office manager, Karen greets clients and patients in

person and on the phone. Through the "We're glad you are here and welcome" attitude she portrays, she interfaces easily with clients regarding puppy/kitten packages and various vaccines available for their pet. Then Karen follows up with the client regarding the condition of recently seen pets. She also works with the doctors and technicians regarding patient treatment/care.

One challenging aspect of her job is dealing with clients who don't view their pet as an important family member. It is frustrating to her to see clients who see their pets as disposable.

Because of her many years in management and customer relations, Karen is vital to making Adobe Pet Hospital run like a well-oiled machine. Her fellow employees will look to her for guidance and decisions regarding office management and procedures.

As a testament to her love of animals, Karen has opened her home to several animals that in one way or another adopted her and her family. They include; a Mexican Redhead Amazon parrot, three cats and a shepherd mixed breed dog.
